The 36th International Africa Festival takes place from 29th May to 1st June 2025

Europe’s biggest festival for African music and culture

The International Africa Festival has been existing since 1989 and is the largest and oldest festival for African music and culture in Europe. More than 7.790 musicians and artists from 56 countries of Africa and the Caribbean have performed in Würzburg so far and about 2.700.000 visitors have heard, seen and tasted the cultural wealth of the African continent.

Due to its great success in Germany, the Africa Festival has now found a few copiers of varying quality. To avoid confusion, the name and logo are now licensed. The dancing figures with the name Africa Festival will not only now, but also in the future be a guarantee of a high quality in music and surrounding programme.
